Binding Restrictions Due to Tropical Storm Sally

We have received cease to bind notices from many of our carriers. Please contact your underwriter if you have questions on a binder. These restrictions are in place due to Tropical Storm Sally Please send all bind requests as soon as possible because we anticipate more binding restrictions. Most companies are still open in Georgia and some only have coastal restrictions in Alabama and Mississippi. Contact your underwriter if you have a question regarding a particular carrier. We will continue to update the website as we receive notices from our carrier partners.
SIU Personal Lines Rater is Currently Closed in Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Can I still quote and bind liability business?
During a storm, most carriers remain open to binding liability business. Please review the SIU website information for more on each carrier’s restrictions.
Do restrictions apply to renewal business?
Renewals will be bound as long as there is no change in coverage. Any changes in coverage cannot be considered until the moratorium is lifted.
What if I sent my bind request in prior to the bind restriction being put in place?
Bind requests received prior to a carrier announcing binding restrictions will be processed. Renewals will be bound as long as there is no change in coverage. Any changes in coverage cannot be considered until the moratorium is lifted.
